HOME

Distinguished Delegates,
It is our great honor and privilege to welcome you all to the ITKMAR JMUN 2026 conference. This year, we gather under a theme that is as poetic as it is powerful: "The Butterfly Effect in Global Diplomacy."
In the world of science, the butterfly effect suggests that the flap of a butterfly’s wings in one part of the world can eventually cause a hurricane in another. In the world of diplomacy, we believe the same principle applies. A single speech, a shared idea, or a small gesture of cooperation in this room today can trigger a wave of positive change across the globe tomorrow.
As young diplomats, you are the "butterflies" of our future. During this conference, you will:

  • Negotiate solutions for complex global issues,
  • Collaborate with peers from different backgrounds,
  • Discover how your individual voices can create a collective impact.

Remember, no resolution is too small, and no voice is insignificant. Every word you speak and every alliance you build contributes to the delicate balance of international peace. We are here not just to simulate the United Nations, but to practice the empathy and leadership that the world so desperately needs.
On behalf of the Secretariat and the entire Organizing Committee, I wish you a conference filled with fruitful debates, lasting friendships, and the courage to start your own "butterfly effect."
Welcome to ITKMAR JMUN 2026. Let the wings of change begin to flutter!
Sincerely,
SECRETARY GENERAL
MELİSSA A.
